Scan Prints
Version 1 · Last updated 7 October 2026
Hold the phone over a print. Livo finds its edges, straightens it, and keeps going to the next one.
Scanning
Open the Gallery, tap +, then Scan Prints. The camera is Apple’s own document scanner: it finds the print’s edges, shows the box, and captures when the print is lined up (or on your tap). Lay down the next print and it captures again. Tap Save when the batch is done — about twenty prints at a time is comfortable.
The first time, iOS asks for permission to use the camera.
About These Prints
One sheet for the whole batch: a date for all of them (leave it blank and they are dated now), a story, tags, people and a place. Skip anything you do not know. Each print becomes a photo in your Camera Roll, dated as you chose, one second apart so the box’s order is kept, and comes into Livo with those details.
Scanned prints in Livo
Each one carries a small scan mark on its tile, “Scanned print” in Info with the time it was scanned, and the Filter has Scanned Prints Only. Change a print’s date later with Set Date, as for any photo.
The words on a print
As each print is added, Livo reads the printed and handwritten words on it — a caption on the back, a date in the corner, a letter — on the phone, with nothing sent anywhere. Info shows Text in this print, and Livo Search’s Text field finds the print from a word on it. The tile shows Aa when words were found. Only scanned prints are read; no other photo is.
