Naming the faces
Version 1 · Last updated 7 October 2026
Livo finds the faces; you say who they are. It never guesses a name.
Opening it
Open the Gallery, pick a Moment, and tap the face icon beside the date. Livo finds the faces in that Moment’s photos (the first time takes a moment) and shows each one as a small chip, in the order the photos were taken.
Name, then tap
- Tap Who is this? and pick a person — type a name, say it, or choose from the list; Add “…” as a new person makes one on the spot.
- Tap every chip that is that person. Chips from the same photo dim, because a person appears only once in a photo.
- Tap Apply. Those chips leave the grid and the photos are tagged with that person.
- Pick the next person. When everyone left is one person, Everyone else is… names them all at once.
Long-press a chip for Not a face, Don’t name (a stranger), Hide for now, or Show the photo. Skip rest marks everything left as Don’t name, after asking.
Review
The Review switch at the top shows every named face in this Moment, grouped by name. Tap a face to rename it or un-name it. Previous and Next move through Moments that have named faces.
Moving on
When a Moment is done, the card tells you how many Moments still have faces to name. Next Moment goes to the next one that does.
Where the names go
Naming a face tags the photo with that person, so the person’s screen, the Filter and Livo Search all find it. Removing a person from a photo also un-names their face there. No face measurements are stored and nothing leaves the phone; a Time Capsule carries the names, never the face boxes.
